Jonathan's work relies on the conept of weltanschaung, where a designer's style is determined by thier mental or intellectual approach to design rather than a strict visual categorization.
Jonathan has broken the book up into two sections Form (image) and Content (text), as these are the two elements he believes are requried for proper design. The Content section addresses his theoretical approaches to design, while the Form section displays the ways he applies that to the work he creates.
The book is assembled so that the end of a section is denoted by a change text orientation. The two halves are flipped inversely so that when you arrive at the end of a section, you are to flip the book and start reading the next section from the reverse cover.
